The Hamlet, located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Hamlet Street is the architectural gem of the week. An apartment building with matching American Foursquare in the back lot it is a stellar example of rock-faced concrete block construction. Built in 1915 it appears as solid today as when it was built.

Street view the Bar L’Estanger in the background. That building was built in 1919.

Nice block variety with different quoin blocks (those are the corner ones) Too bad the porch roofs aren’t original.

The matching Foursquare double in the back is another rock-faced concrete block wonder. Even the chimney block matches.

Weinland Park-more architectural history than you can shake a stick at!
